Damon kinda on his White Album arc. I like most of it except the weird falsetto auto tune on The Empty Dream Machine which is a shame because Black Thoughts verse on that was pretty good but it’s a skip for me. But the theme of searching for spirituality post grief makes for some really beautiful and impactful moments. RIP Proof and Tony Allen
I've listened to Joji for a very long time and he has established a specific sound that I personally really do enjoy, but at this point in his career it feels a bit stale and formulaic because he is very much in his comfort zone. It honestly feels indistinguishable from the early soundcloud days of his music career and that's a bit disappointing when we have seen immense growth in his previous albums. With that being said I do feel like this album is being overhated.
I think I agree with the general consensus it was alright, had a bit of higher expectations but it wasn't a bad listen.
This one was recommended to me and I enjoyed it. Very classic indie alt rock. I can't say it particularly stood out to me in a sea of this genre but still a pleasant listen. I liked Backwards the best of this album.
Surprisingly I haven't listened to this album fully before. It's soft and subtle but follows the same sort of themes that seem to have haunted Hayley through out her discography. I would say this is her at her most vulnerable. A little slow for my taste but still a valuable addition to her line up.
I'll admit it I've developed a bit of a crush on Bad Bunny from his SNL performances, I didn't know how hard his music SLAPS. It's like the music you play on a Sunday morning to clean to, music to dance at the club to, or just music for driving around. I appreciate artists like him and Rosalia for expanding my music tastes to international music so much. As a girl from Arizona I should know Spanish better and it makes me want to learn even more. Super Bowl bout to be LIT.
Of course my GOAT is the only other person I've heard that takes Mirtazapine besides me.
Toby makes the best video game music hands down no question
I have two ears connected to a heart. I don't need to explain this one.
Long review and potentially hot takes incoming:
It can be difficult reviewing media from 40 years ago, on one hand there’s so much nostalgia tied specifically with Metallica since it was one of the most played bands from my parents growing up. On the other hand i also have the full context of Metallicas discography and the 1000s of inspired music from Metallica. There’s a specific reason I choose master of puppets, because this is generally what most people consider their best ... read more
The eclectic aesthetics of the album match the combination of the songs but together. I do wish there was some more solid theming to both SOS and its deluxe but I can tell this was written in the creative fervor they had described. I don’t think I’ll come back to listen to the full album frequently but plenty of songs will be on playlists for me. Love Kitchen and BMF and I love that SZA has the potential to due any genre she would like.
My theatre kid energy is back in full swing its these bitches fault
