This was one of the first albums I owned on CD, and I would sit on the floor of my living room and listen to the songs over and over. Every lyric touched my young tortured soul, and now it reminds me of the childish angst I had about myself, my friends, and the world around me. When I felt as though no one understood my thoughts, Paramore did and they still do. This is not the best of Paramore's work, but it is the one that has the most sentimental value to me, making it one of my favorite ... read more
I think there are some fun highlights in this album, but I wish Sabrina would move away from the tongue-in-cheek writing. She can still have fun, and be a pop girlie, but some more sustenance would really elevate her artistry. There are definitely songs in here that are enjoyable, but it feels more like an extension to Short 'n' Sweet than its own body of work.

I'm officially a child of divorce. This album perfectly describes the heartbreak of breakups between yourself and others. Hayley has never felt more herself than on this record. I though Petals for Armor was her most introspective yet, until I heard these songs. Releasing this album as individual tracks made it feel like 17 individual stories. Now as an album, its bridges these stories together to make one of her best lyrically written works. Sonically, this album has every influence ... read more
I'm loving this kind of 90s/2000s indie pop style that Conan has on this album. Wishbone does a great job of expanding Conan's music styling while also staying true to his roots--heartbreaking songs about lost love. Even the song 'Nauseous' on this album calls out that trope of his that somehow keeps working. It's always great to see an artist you've followed a long time evolve.

While there are some songs that are real fun/catchy, it feels like Renee Rapp is trying to find her sound. I enjoy the songs where she leans more into her R&B vibes and vocal ability.
Favs: 'I Can't Have You Around Me Anymore', 'I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone', 'Good Girl'
I am once again speechless by Ethel Cain's ability to express complex emotions and feelings through simple chords. This album feels more of her reflection of her relationship with Willoughby before her end in Preacher's Daughter. Hayden's ability to craft this haunting lore brings these characters alive, to the point I grieve their loss.
Favs: 'Willoughby's Theme', 'Nettles', 'A Knock At The Door,' 'Waco, Texas'
