Ok look, I don’t even really mind that all of these songs are phonk covers of popular songs, what I do mind is that they are LAZY phonk covers of popular songs. Better Off Alone was good though, I’ll give you that, but like come on if you’re gonna remix Levels at least do it well. LAVADONIA sounded straight up out of tune, and I don’t even know how on earth you manage to do that with a synthesized sound. I’d give this a pass if it was made by someone who was ... read more
Is it original, no. Is it a fun listen and does it make me wanna dance, yes. This has a permanent home on my playlist.
The energy on this track is top-notch. One of my go-to tracks when I’m in the car. The vocal samples fit the song so well, the progression feels nice, and overall this song is just a blast. Can’t wait to see more like it!
I mean it’s alright. It definitely had some stand out songs and a lot of them have found a home in my playlist, but the majority of the songs just weren’t that interesting. Most of the collabs weren’t that interesting, and PULL THE TRIGGER is painfully overrated, and the whole album just kinda of fell off in the last five songs. I did find the pipe organ in TERROR to be really funny, though, and it definitely made that song a standout for me. Other standouts include ANUBIS, ... read more
This album was kind of a roller coaster. The first half of this album was fantastic, with songs like FATALITY and MURDER IN MY MIND, but it kind of fell apart in the latter songs. DO YOU LOVE ME and DAT PHONK weren’t that good, but it ended off really strong with MWTCTTGM. While it is a highly relistenable album, I can’t rate it too high just because of how inconsistent the quality of the songs were, but all in all it was good.
I'm speechless. This is just... fantastic. I will never forget seeing this movie with my family for the first time, and then getting to see it live soon after is a core memory of mine. Easily my favorite musical ever written, easily topping the likes of Wicked and Hamilton (both of which are some of my personal favorites and hold very close personal meaning to me). 12/10.
I loved this album so much I went and got the vinyl record of it, which now stands proudly on display in my office (still wrapped of course). I love the consistency across the songs, and I appreciate the number of collaborations that highlight Rezz's ability to work alongside others. Glass Veins and Prophecy have both made their way onto my "favorites" playlist, but Telepathy and Incantation weren't fantastic. Overall, this was a great listening experience and almost every ... read more
I love the energy on this track, I love how the melody and the vocal work in a sort of call-and-response. This has a permanent home in my playlist.
I'll admit that I'm biased in rating this album just because of nostalgia, but man alive this is so peak. I just need U, Scars (Come With Livin'), and Hello Future are some of my favorite songs of all time.
ALLDAWAY doesn't hit nearly as hard as I would like it to, but MAYHEM is fantastic. Both songs have found a home in my playlist, and I enjoy listening to them in the car.
When I first discovered this song, I was playing it on repeat for weeks after. The chanting leading into the second drop makes the whole song 10 times better than it already was. This has since made it's way onto my "favorite tracks of all time" list, and it's one of my go-to songs for when I'm in the car.
I love the way the songs all fit together and yet still sound fantastic on their own. Somewhere I Belong and Numb are some of my favorite songs of all time, but Nobody's Listening was honestly not great. I don't think I'll go out of my way to listen to this album again, but I definitely won't skip these songs when Spotify Shuffle puts them on in the car.
This is my go-to album for when I want something to listen to. The fact that it is a continuous album automatically boosts this rating by at least 10 points, and while most of the songs aren't meant to be listened to by themselves, some of them are just too good. I love the second drop on STAY CLOSE, the heavy bassline on TRAPPED MEMORY, the triplets in GET FREE, and ROLL IT UP and TIMEOUT are some of my favorite songs in general. The transition from DREAMING to YELLOW TREE has to be one ... read more
