Juvenile - Back That Azz Up

ALL RISE FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!

Daft Punk - Discovery

Reading the old critic reviews for this album when it dropped is really funny because it's so obvious they completely missed the point of the music on this album. Simply put this is some of the greatest music ever put to record regardless of genre. Thomas and Guy-Manuel tapped into something brilliant here and I can't see it ever being topped again, even with the amount of electronic music it has inspired since its release. If you haven't listened to Discovery yet, for the love ... read more

Tame Impala - Deadbeat

I wanted to like this. I really did. I gave it a fair shot. But this is, without question, Kevin's worst album under the Tame Impala banner so far. And it's not even because he went in the sonic direction he did, because Currents and The Slow Rush were already moving away from the psych rock of Innerspeaker and Lonerism and I absolutely love those two albums without reservation. But listening to this album was just an absolute slog. Aside from My Old Ways, Dracula and Afterthought, ... read more

2012: this is mega cringe, how could anyone ever listen to this and enjoy it

2025: oh my god. I get it.

Silk Sonic - An Evening With Silk Sonic
90

I'll be honest, it had been quite some time since I listened to this album in full. When it first dropped, I was spinning it almost every hour of the day for several weeks, and I absolutely loved it at the time. But after having listened to it as much as I did, I definitely got sick of it and I simply did not go back to it for several years other than to listen to some spare tracks every now and then, and my mood on the album in general definitely soured a little bit.

But having revisited ... read more

Curtis Mayfield - Superfly

This album birthed coke rap. I will not explain further

Genesis - Duke

Divorced dad rock (positive)

Coldplay - The Scientist

Why won't this site let me rate this song 1,000,000/100

Rainbow Kitten Surprise - bones

Friend of mine recommended this to me and I can safely say this lands in the "not for me but still pretty good" category. I do think the lyrics can be pretty cringe at times but the instrumental performances and overall production is fairly well done IMO. I'd say this is good background music, and I don't mean that in a negative way whatsoever

Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSounds
91

I feel very biased towards this album so I can't give it an objective rating. Sure some of the songs on the B-side are weaker and that does hold it back from perfection, but my god when this album hits, it HITS. This was the first modern pop album I truly loved... which is funny cause you should not be playing this album around 8 year olds. (Thanks mom!) Still though, the production from Timbo and Danja on this thing is still ahead of its time even today, and Justin sounds confident as ... read more

Rich Brian - WHERE IS MY HEAD?
80

Genuinely really impressed by Brian's growth here. If you give any song off this a listen, make it Timezones. What a track

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
80

Truly the Return of the Jedi of this current Weeknd trilogy: not quite as consistently great as the previous two entries but still a good time with some incredible high points.

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
90

Quite possibly the most low-stakes album in Tyler's career and it still manages to be great. Ring Ring Ring immediately goes in the top 5 of Tyler songs all-time

Daniel Caesar - Son Of Spergy
75

Easily some of the most mature songwriting in Daniel's career so far matched with his silky smooth voice as always. Album does start to feel a little repetitive sonically near the end but it's still worth listening to, especially if you're into modern R&B and neo-soul.

Earl Sweatshirt - Live Laugh Love
80

Production can be a little too laid back for my liking at times but Earl is still an incredibly talented and witty rapper. Check it out if you're in your unc era

PinkPantheress - Fancy That
90

Super Monkey Ball type beats for 20 minutes. Hell yeah

New Edition - If It Isn't Love

I told her I'd never fall in love... but now I know better

George Michael - Older
95

Faced with the aftermath of his much-publicized legal battle with Sony and the loss of his romantic partner to AIDS, all George Michael did in response was make the absolute best album of his goddamn life. I truly think a lot of the reaction to this album at the time was a result of critics and fans wanting George to go back to the more upbeat pop of Faith, but he simply was not in a place to do that. Instead, we got an incredibly mature, poignant and moving album where George laid all his ... read more
