Other than my great grandmother, I haven't had much close experience with death (and I'm very grateful for that), but despite my fortunate lack of experience with death, this album feels so real to me.
The first time I listened to this album, I couldn't get past Ravens (the 3rd track). I wasn't in a great place at the time and the emotional weight of the album kind of overwhelmed me. It took a while for this album to stand out to me. I liked a lot of the sounds Mr. Pink was playing with, but nothing stuck with me in my first couple of listens. About 5-6 listens in, everything started to pop, and with each additional listen, a new song would stand out to me. Suddenly, all 17 songs stood out to me in their own unique way. This album grew from nothing much to one of my favourite pop albums of all time. Great album.
