HOLY SHIT THIS ALBUM IS ENERGETIC AS HELL >o<
Tu Novio es una Telaraña (translating to “Your Boyfriend is a Spider Web” I believe) is the second album by Olallie under the AERO GROS M pseudonym, maybe under her band which may or may not have other members? She’s the only named one and, while I cannot confirm, I heard she had Dissociative Identity Disorder which could explain why none of the other members have been named? Either that or it’s just her ... read more
I never planned on making this
I don’t really want to talk about this album too much, so I’m just gonna point out my favorite songs here. The first track is very chaotic and introduces the album really well because it’s a huge chaotic mix of all the sounds that are on this album. Tracks 4 and 5 are WONDERFUL songs that I think sound absolutely amazing and obviously as I’m including them, are some of my favorites here. Track 11 is a really cool song that might honestly ... read more
There’s some highlights for sure
Dark Medieval Times is the debut of Norwegian Black Metal band Satyricon, and it’s a little underwhelming all things considered but still shows signs of quality. Why is it underwhelming? Well there’s a good chunk of things here that’s just kind of a track, let’s just get what’s probably my most controversial take about this album out the way; the first song on this album is really boring and is okay at best, it completely ... read more
Very catchy Black Metal!
Exercises in Futility is not Mgła’s first Black Metal album, but it definitely is their most popular and well received one to date, and it really isn’t that hard to see why. From the first track this album gives you this slow introduction before it jumps into your more typical Black Metal song, melodic guitar riffs, an incredibly atmospheric chorus, crazy drumming, all the standards. That’s not to say it’s bad though, the entire album more or ... read more
And that's another 10/10 for the books baby!
Rain Without End is a melancholic and emotional disaster, I've genuinely never heard Death Doom that sounds so sorrowful and soul crushing, the "Melodic Death Doom" if you will sounds absolutely fucking amazing and is clearly influential to plenty of later acts down the road. I so wish that Jonas Renske could go back and make more music like this, but I get that he really can't because of his health as well as him just ... read more
Abigor's debut offers some great Black Metal with melodic hints spread about!
Abigor is a band that I'm well aware of at this point from when I listened to Nachthymnen (From the Twilight Kingdom), and it eventually became one of my favorite Melodic Black Metal albums of all time! So it's needless to say that I was more than excited to check this out after I heard from numerous sources that it was decently similar to their sophomore release. Would it have made sense if I listened ... read more
