Earldridge & Iam6teen - Hugo: The Etheromaniac
NR

Production : 10/10
Easily described as flawless, the production heard on this EP is easygoing, energy-filled, and very uplifting. When it comes to the vibe it feels like nothing I’ve heard before and so easy to listen to. Every instrument on each beat feels very free-flowing yet well-placed and orchestrated. The best way to put a scene to it is by watching an amazing sunset while conversing with your significant other. The mixing and mastering are immaculate and very well-balanced ... read more

Tumi Notes - Soul Sincere
NR

Just when I thought I was aware of what South African Soul has to offer, I stumbled across Tumi Notes. A local producer who I had to add to my library because of his genre-blending productions. His debut album, Soul Sincere, exemplifies his commitment to crafting music that resonates deeply with listeners. The album features collaborations with a handful of vocalists, namely, Ndumiso Beloved, Symphony Soul, Aquaeen, Liso, Miss Bo, Cindii Masina, and Tebogo TTauo Moloto, with each act bringing ... read more

Cindii Masina - Then Came Yue
NR

Production: 7.5/10
The production on this EP is really good, even in an RnB setting, the beats and production as a whole vary from bass and percussion focused beats to something more melodic. The beats compliment Cindii’s vocal delivery and even though this project is unmastered and a demo, this is a really professional cut. The layering of the vocals is well arranged and soothing on the ears. The harmonising is one of my favourite aspects of the EP because they fit into her singing style ... read more

Skai. - RETRO DEVIL (EXITUS)
NR

Production - 9/10

Filled with the same sort of beats from INITIUM, this EP tends to slow it down a bit more than the previous EP but yet still feels extremely good to vibe to. The change in tempo still allows Skai to be himself and vibe completely through each song. The mixing and mastering of these tracks as a whole feel very exquisite and finely tuned to make sure you can feel the beat and also hear what Skai is saying.

Skai. - RETRO DEVIL (INITIUM)
NR

Production - 9/10
The production on this is amazing; it really is one of a kind because the beats don’t sound like anything we’ve heard in the South African space as a whole and deserve real attention while listening. These aren’t just normal trap beats that anyone can jump on, and that makes them feel extremely tailored to Skai’s sound. The basslines feel like they thump your ear, and the melodies come behind to sort of soothe them.
