The Browning is an insanely innovative album in the field of trancecore, consisting of a bunch of different influences from different genres and the occasional hardstyle or electronic drop that makes the album feel just that much more unique. The instrumentation is great and the vibe on this album is off the charts, with it being as explosive and powerful as you'd've expected from the cover art. This album is a cross between everything I love about metal and hardstyle both. This album is filled to the brim with adrenaline and energy and I'm all here for it.
---Individual ratings---
Invasion - 70/100 - Why are so many songs named Invasion?
Save the World - 94/100 - A heavy track with some pretty cool synth work too.
Gravedigger - 96/100 - Like Save the World, but just slightly more heavy and well rounded and energetic in all capacities.
Industry - 97/100 - The drums are absolutely insane here, same with the guitars.
Hypernova - 100/100 - How The Browning transitions from
Fifth King - 97/100 - Exceptionally unique with some cool synths and guitars, but other songs here have more interesting choruses, so I can't say it's on the same level as some other songs here.
Type 1A
Slaves - 96/100 - The drums, guitars, and orchestral pieces all really stand out here and make this song as good as it is. The beginning's pretty cool too.
Black Hole - 100/100 - The hardstyle here really fits the song. Absolute banger in all capacities.
Breaking Point - 97/100 - The drumming here is genuinely legendary, but the guitar is a little weak. Cool use of choir vocals though.
Planet Hate - 93/100 - Not a standout here, but one with some good instrumentation and vocals regaradless, although yeah, it's a bit less memorable than the title track or other, more impactful and heavy songs.
Cross the Line - 100/100 - Great synth work here, and the vocal work plus the drumming makes for an insanely powerful and explosive song.
Fearplex - 100/100 - From the beginning you know you're getting yourself into something special. The electronics on this track make it feel futuristic and fleshed-out compared to some of the more simple tracks here, and the piano is also used effectively here. Although there are better hardstyle drops on this album, I still love the influences from the genre regardless.
Gravedigger (ft. Eskimo Callboy) - 97/100 - For some reason, 2013 albums in the rock/metal fields have a bunch of dubstep remixes, whether We Butter The Bread With Butter, Linkin Park, or apparently these guys too, but it's always in a super fun style that makes it a super worthwhile remake of an already good track.
