Definitely a step in the right direction for Kanye in 2026, but still not nearly good enough. It just sounds unfinished in every aspect, as per usual with Kanye recently. Production is incosistent at best, the mixing is obviously rushed and unpolished. Aside from the obvious AI leftovers, his delivery is not even a shadow of what it used to be. If J. Cole actually manages to sound this interesting through the whole album I might actually even be sad that he's retiring.
I really appreciate the fact that Rocky is trying to experiment with this next album, mainstream hip hop has been pretty stale this last year for the most part. I like the sound that he is going for with this track, but I think he already did something similar and in a better way with Sundress. I kinda wish it was a bit more adventurous both instrumentally and vocally, to me it feels like he got halfway to where he wanted to go with this song.
