This album shows that Kendrick can really work with anything he puts his mind to. The production is very different from his usual style, being more catchy and dance-oriented, and his lyricism is sharp in most places, although he raps about very different topics than what he usually handles.
Another great storytelling album from Dot that explores his upbringing and peers’ effect on him, as well as his own feelings. The trap-style production is great and Kendrick explores his upbringing through sometimes provocative lyrics.
An insightful look into what it mean to be a savior to rap. The production is very new to Dot and despite that, he makes a great and successful effort in portraying through his lyricism what it means to be a leading figure to hip hop while also tackling real world issues.
One of the best narratives of any album ever. Great production and Kendrick’s lyricism and storytelling is amazing
STRAIGHT FUCKING PEAK. Kendrick’s pen game really shows here, and all the concepts explored (racism, the industry, hating AND loving oneself) are all so excellently done.
