Amaarae transitions pretty seamlessly to the club on Black Star. For my money, Fountain Baby is pretty much perfect, but Black Star puts more of a focus on Amaarae's unique brand of popstar megalomania.

Having followed Leikeli47 since her debut, FPUO strikes me as her most complete and masterful release. Everything I love about 47 is here but there's also no shortage of surprises. Big recommend!
I think this is such a blast, and to get it in the same year as Goyard ibn Said is such a treat. Obviously this is a more scattershot, noisy and chaotic piece of work than Goyard, but I can appreciate it for all those things; it's clear Ghais knows what he's doing and has plenty to say.
It's a point of contention whether or not an artist's existing catalogue should factor into a review of their new material. As reviewers, we should probably try to separate the two and accept new material as just that - new material - but as listeners, especially as fans, it's hard not to hold new releases in contrast to what we already know and love.
