Yebba - Jean
70

Some very interesting instrumentals and song progressions! Some of them very mediaevally coded too! Ultimately each song sort of blurs into each other, though it is cohesive!

Tracks <3: Yellow Eyes, Alright, Aggressive, Seven Years, Different Light.

Holly Humberstone - Cruel World
68

Scratches that void between Billie, Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter! Some genuinely enjoyable moments that don't add up to much more.

Tracks <3: To Love Somebody, Die Happy, White Noise, Red Chevy.

Nourished By Time - The Passionate Ones
84

Vibes are immaculate on this one.

Tracks <3: Automatic Love, Idiot In The Park, Max Potential, 9 2 5, BABY BABY, When The War Is Over, The Passionate Ones.

JADE - THAT'S SHOWBIZ BABY!
84

Its not treading any new territory with its sound, but Jade offers more than enough in their lyrics and voice to make it utterly compelling to listen.

Tracks <3: Angel Of My Dreams, IT girl, FUFN (Fuck You For Now), Plastic Box, Midnight Cowboy, Fantasy, Unconditional, Self Saboteur, Lip Service, Natural at Disaster, Before You Break My Heart, Silent Disco.

SPRINTS - All That Is Over
80

These guys fuck. Love it when someone new takes on a genre, love it even more when it is this good.

Fav tracks <3: Descartes, Need, Beg, Something's Gonna Happen, Pieces, Better, Coming Alive, Desire.

underscores - U
85

Proving straightforward simplicity can be maximalist, love it.

Fav Tracks <3: Tell Me (U Want It), Music, Innuendo (i Get U), Do It, Bodyfeeling.

Ninush - The Flowers I See You In
81

What if BC,NR had a baby with Mei Semones? I'm glad I don't need to wonder what that would soudnd like.

Tacks <3: All of them, but Lady in Waiting Stands out for me!

Automatic - Signal
71

A great post punk record!

Tracks <3: Highway, I Love you, Fine, Suicide in Texas, Calling It, Champagne.

DYAN - Looking for Knives
73

It creates a cool and interesting atmosphere but doesn't offer much else as it sticks to its guns a bit too tightly.

Tracks <3: Looking for Knives, Reality, St. James, Another Way to Lose.

Guerilla Toss - You're Weird Now
85

I knew I was weird when I liked this record, it confirmed it for me, I was wondering all my life, but this record confirmed it for me, Psychosis is just a number confirmed it for me, and then again with Red Flag to Angry Bull, am I the angry bull? Anyway its a really fun and cooky record and I enjoyed being weird with it.

Tracks <3: Krystal Ball, Psychosis Is Just a Number, CEO of Personal & Pleasure, Life's a Zoo, Red Flag to Angry Bull, Panglossian Mannequin, Deep Sight, Favorite ... read more

Gorillaz - The Mountain
85

Not flawless by any means, but I'd be lying if I didn't cry at multiple spots. In many ways its classic Gorillaz, and in many ways its a perfect refinement of what they set out to do in Plastic Beach. Complete sonic excellence at times.

Tracks <3: The Mountain, The Moon Cave, The Happy Dictator, Orange County, The God of Lying, The Empty Dream Machine, The Manifesto, Damascus, The Shadowy Light, Casablanca, The Sad God.

James Blake - Trying Times
83

I sometimes hate how much I resonate with his music. Dreamy landscape as always, with surprises a plenty in the mix.

Tracks <3: I had a dream she took my hand, Trying times, Make something up, Didn't come to argue, Doesn't just happen, Rest of your life.

86

Esta motomami fucks.

Tracks <3: All of them.

caroline - caroline 2
84

Noise folk done right.

Tracks <3: Total euphoria, Tell me I never knew that, When I get home, U R ONLY ACHING, Two riders down, Beautiful ending.

ROSALÍA - LUX
89

This is beyond exceptional, its at the highest order of technical ability, this is Messi at his most magisterial, this is Michael Jackson moon walking, this is an artist at the top of their game treating us to all to all that they can do. Its hard to contain, hard to describe, hard to understand how brilliant it is, hard to execute - but Rosalia and her producers make it look so easy. From top to bottom, this is a gift and its only going to grow on me as time passes.

Tracks <3: All of them.

Mon Laferte - FEMME FATALE
83

I haven't heard too much of her catalogue, this as a formal introduction is a genuine pleasure. She glides past the jazz with such ease, and with such class even when the topic of the song is risque in nature. A great listen!

Tracks <3: Otra Noche de Llorar, Esto Es Amor, El Gran Señor, La Tirana, Melancolia, Ocupa Mi Piel, Vida Normal.

Dave - The Boy Who Played the Harp
80

Feels like one cohesive intimate conversation with many threads. Dave's flows, intelligence and charisma come through with every word, the production is moody and reflective, and the features mostly perfectly placed. An album tackling the deconstruction of the performance of masculinity for men by a man; an excellent listen front to back

Tracks <3: History, 175 Months, Chapter 16, Raindance, Selfish (holy shit), My 27th Birthday, Marvellous, Fairchild, The Boy Who Played the Harp.

Olivia Dean - The Art of Loving
83

Her voice omg, silky and soothing and gentle and moving. The vocal melodies are so groovy and the sound seems timeless.

Tracks <3: Nice to Each Other, Lady Lady, So Easy (To Fall In Love), Man I Need, Loud.

The Last Dinner Party - From the Pyre
82

Almost as good as their debut! Polished and poised! The band sticks to a formula and as a result their sound becomes predictable, would have loved some more of a evolution. That being said, its still mostly a great time.

Tracks <3: Second Best, This is the Killer Speaking, Rifle, The Scythe.

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl
30

A cheap Sabinra impression. Hollow, soulless, bland and petty to the point of delusion. Whatever facade of being a feminist she was clinging on to is now well and truly gone.

Tracks <3: None.
