Kanye West - Donda 2
40

This is the first time the collective audience could say this was a bad Kanye album. At the very least, 'Security' is one of the funniest songs to come out of the mainstream this decade.

Kanye West - Donda
80

Despite being bloated and desperately in need of some trimming, 'Donda' sees Kanye during his last moments of fragile sanity. The final product is ethereal, dark, at times experimental, and emotionally fulfilling, particularly when Kanye is not at the forefront of the subject material.

Kanye West - JESUS IS KING
50

Despite some great performances from Sunday Service Choir and a myriad of other guest appearances, the feeling of Kanye's lack of care for what the Scriptures actually say is too apparent. It weighs down the experience.

Kanye West - ye
70

This is a refreshing respite for Kanye and a good take on mental health. If only the final two tracks were as good as the first five.

70

Despite some of Kanye's lowest moments to this point in his discography, it also contains some of his greatest gems. Whatever the consensus, it is almost inarguably the most "Kanye" album that could have ever been concocted.

Kanye West - Yeezus
90

Absurd, avant-garde, noisy, bombastic, and sorrowfully exuberant, 'Yeezus' is the true birth of the new Kanye. While it is debatable whether or not that was good, what can be said is that the ludicrously lewd stories that Ye tells us should not overshadow the authentic messages of institutionalized horrors of the American prison system or the racism displayed by high-end fashion executives. If you can ignore or accept the blasphemous proclamations of being a God or needing sweet and ... read more

JAY-Z & Kanye West - Watch the Throne
60

Watch The Throne is a collaboration for the ages, emphasis on 'collaboration' and not the music. The excitement of two rap titans like Jay-Z and Kanye West is sure to turn heads, but much of the music itself is so far out of touch (even for a genre as braggadocious as hip hop) and dated that there is not much to retain or return to.
'Niggas in Paris' is a banger for the ages, though.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
100

In what is inarguably his magnum opus, Kanye returns with a filigreed spectacle for the ages that sees him branch out into more genres than ever with stellar results. The features also bring on their A-game in a beautiful, twisted, fantastical sight to behold.

Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak
60

'808s & Heartbreak' is arguably the most influential hip hop album of the 21st century. While the LP contains some memorable highlights, the overall product is plagued by inconsistencies.

Kanye West - Graduation
85

"Graduation" sees Kanye leave behind the orchestral beauty of 'Late Registration' and delve into arena-level production. It establishes him as a pop star, with some of the hookiest and greatest tracks of his entire commercial catalog (albeit with a couple of duds as well).

Kanye West - Late Registration
80

Now seen as the overlooked middle child of the original trilogy, the magnificent sophomore album established Mr. West as no fluke. The emotional highs are sky high and the highlights are among the best of Kanye's catalog.

Kanye West - The College Dropout
90

This is where it all began. For as agonizing as a public figure Kanye West has become, his debut is nothing short of stellar and a soulful game-changer for the genre of hip hop as a whole.

Maroon 5 - Love Is Like
30

I hesitate to call this a step-up from their latest output.

This is less mediocre (albeit marginally) than JORDI. However, there is an argument that it is more forgettable, and you could say that it is worse. Ultimately, I appreciate background music that I can tune out, and unfortunately, I cannot tune out 'Memories.'

Maroon 5 - JORDI
20

Maroon 5's seventh album is in memory of their late manager Jordan Feldstein. The sentiment is admirable, but the construction is suspect, and the result could be considered as unintentionally disrespectful.

Rock bands going pop; a tale as old as time. Yet, it is baffling why so many bands get the hate they do for 'selling out.' Due to the uniformity of supply-and-demand, pop does sell a lot, and it charts well. And pop is not synonymous with bad music. Heck, hard rock outfits ... read more

AJR - OK ORCHESTRA
30

Hey, it's an improvement over their latest effort. Although that does not say much.

Look, I will not spend the time on this review that I did for 'The Click' or 'Neotheater.' TLDR: 'The Click' is mediocre but not outright terrible, 'Neotheater' IS outright terrible.

The tracks on this album are still bad. 'Joe' is stupid, 'Bang!' is utterly obnoxious, 'The Trick' contains some truly asinine lyrics even in the context ... read more

AJR - Neotheater

...Makes me feel genuine vitriol, the likes of which the loudest, and angry rap or metal could not manage to do.

In that aspect I applaud this record. However, for as much as I do feel existential dread and have no clue what will happen next in this sin-stricken world, I would not hate myself enough to sit through this album again. You may think I am being hyperbolic, but I assure you that I am willing to admit when AJR impresses me. 'Weak' is genuinely catchy, and some of their ... read more

AJR - The Click

The brothers' attempt at relating to their fellow millennials contains more misses than hits.

When approaching an album of this magnitude in the echo chamber of the chronically online, there is little you can say that will satisfy anyone, much less yourself. If I said it sucks, AJR fans will accuse me of simply regurgitating the YouTube critics' talking points. If I said it was great, music nerds will demand my aux cable to show me their list of REAL music (no, Radiohead and BIllie ... read more

MAVI - The Pilot
80

Charlotte rapper MAVI's latest mixtape is certainly in anticipation of his upcoming album, but even so, it leaves the listener in a state of awe. If THIS is a throwaway project, just how good will the real deal be?!

The tracks are among the better hip hop releases of 2025, and the features play well to MAVI's strengths without detracting from his talents and presence.

Jamie Duffy - Jamie Duffy
70

There is more to this LP than the brilliant "Solas." Irish musician Jamie Duffy curates an album that both successfully captures folk and contemporary instrumental in an album that plays to his strengths and contains just enough to keep one excited for future releases.

Matt Maltese - Hers
60

The latest from the British musician is a mixed bag. The music is as dreamy as ever, and the production is still on point, but the questionable lyrics make me concerned for the man's mental well-being.
