I genuinely cannot name a horror movie I've seen that has a soundtrack that encapsulates and drives the movie along as well as Obsessions' does. Absolutely perfect - the movie and the soundtrack; eerie, heartbreaking, petrifying.

This makes me nostalgic for a year that occurred before I was born. This album is really good at world-building without trying; I immediately feel like I'm on vacation in a Frutiger Aero like space. Musically speaking, this is a standard, comfortable pop album. It's catchy as hell, blending futuristic 2000s pop with nostalgic disco themes. I want her to win so bad. I enjoy her vocals and personality, which makes it hard because I know what she’s capable of. She can be a powerhouse when she wants to, but for me, this album goes absolutely nowhere. I find myself realizing a song “exists” throughout every single one. They’re not bad songs, but they lack passion or the ability to differentiate themselves. Not a bad album by any means, but I feel like these songs are not that strong. “Wherever You Are”, “Wonderland”, “Only Wanna Dance with You” aren’t bad songs, but they’re rather forgettable. I also find myself wishing some songs had different verses, specifically “Warrior” and “Supernatural”.
