It's artists like Vince Staples who really put the "HipHop is dead" crowd to shame.
Cry Baby really is one of the best albums of this year. Vince Staples is the fucking goat of versatility, Dark Times being my favorite album of 2024, I see this album easily becoming one of my future favorites as well. The production on this thing is genuine ear candy.
Favorite Song: The Big Bad Wolf
Worst Song: 7 In The Morning
i love being a furry and all, but holy shit none of them can make good music
for my own music ears, MMESYF is easily the most influential album i've listened to. it really inspired me to dive into more genres, sounds, artists, and new music in general. This is the first album i checked out from Denzel Curry, maybe 2 years ago, and he still holds on to the title of my favorite rapper of all time. there isn't a single song on this record i would call below a 7/10. even the "average" songs have crazy replay value, as their all so unique and polished. ... read more
what a seriously incredible album. it's so, so beautiful, and it's by the wonderful man known as Blood Orange, what more could you ask for? every feature is perfect, even ***** who unfortunately does great on "Hope". Steve Lacy delievers, rocky delivers, and every other voice is dreamy, yet intimate. Blood Orange isn't being outperformed, as he's usually the best part of each song. "Charcoal Baby" is seriously one of the greatest R&B songs i've ... read more
such a fun album. i get on my knees and bark for catchy indie rock music, and that's exactly what this album is full of. probably the first record this year to really stick with me, besides the underscores album. im really hoping we see more from this band, they have insane potential.
favorite song: a severance novella
worst song: tell you
im a huge fuckin strokes fan, The New Abnormal should be their retirement album if julian is going to do shit like this...
underscores is really good at music. all the work shes made has crazy replayability while the music is crazy high quality. definitely the best album of the year so far, with crazy highs.
favorite song: Bodyfeeling
worst song: The Peace
just be competent carries the fuck out of this album. some of the other songs were really funny tho, so ill give it that
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG
people need to learn how to have fun on this website. not all music needs to be taken super seriously, when the music isn't super serious. I Used To Go To This Bar is short and very fun, especially the first half of the album.
favorite song: I Know Where Mark Chen Lives
worst song: Well, Don’t It Seem Like You've Been Here Before?
i want to have sex with julian casablancas. Room on Fire being released after Is This It is fucking crazy. The Strokes' debut album is nearly perfect, as they craft their next to be even better. Room on Fire doesnt have a song under an 8/10 rating for me, quite literally every song has its moments, and a real chance to be a favorite. the first 4 tracks of this masterpiece, are some of the best songs to come out of The Strokes' entire catalog. easily one of my favorite albums of all ... read more
it took me a while for this to really click for me. ive always liked it, but no where near as much as i do now. every song on here feels so raw, even as it is just a remake of Mirror to Mirror. MtM has its moments, and its a great album, but its no where near to the quality and replayablitiy as FtF has. every song on this album is worth a listen, and has potential to be a favorite for someone. even the goddamn interlude is great music. this will forever be car seat headrest's magnum opus. ... read more
its like testing, but good. Don't Be Dumb is very high quality music, but i wouldnt call it "wait almost a decade for it" kind of high quality music. still, its full of great tracks and production.
favorite song: dont be dumb / trip baby
worst song: robbery (i dont hate doechii)
