Pure heaviness and filthy vocals. I find it fascinating having a single track full singing and no screaming for a band like this.
First few tracks felt very much more like an instrumental track with it featuring barely any lyrics. Mitski has such a beautiful voice. I only like a few tracks so I wouldn't listen to album fully again. It's an interesting perspective on I'm assuming her past relationships and experiences.
To start an album with an instrumental orchestra performance, just wow. The back vocals are so haunting at times but also just a perfect addition. The vocal performance is phenomenal. It's catchy and makes you want to move and groove. The usage of different instruments throughout the whole album is something that is missing in todays music. The haunting vocals consumes me. I love the way the songs were produced with her. I wasn't a big fan of her lows but besides that I found it to be one of her best albums. It covers serious topics with an emotional depth. With the addition of 2 tracks being inspired by 60s films.
