MF Grimm - The Downfall of Ibliys: A Ghetto Opera

Depending on the day you ask me I might tell you this is my favourite album of all time because wow....I mean the music alone is incredible and is the peak of all artists that make appearances here (Especially Megalon R.I.P) but once you include the story behind both grimm and this album how could you not consider it a masterpiece. reviewing this one in particular to hopefully get the rating higher as this is NOT a 48. As a matter of fact this might be my favourite of the hidden herbs albums. There's an incredible selection of instrumentals from the kmd days to a lot of more slept on stuff such as the downfall of Ibliys, nehruvian doom and even some John Robinson. And how can you not love that cover. Great listen and respect to everyone involved in the creation of these albums :)

If you are a fan of this album, please listen to the ear hustler and if you ... read more

Simply put it's incredible, a cornerstone for the genre and what I would consider the first perfect hip hop album. It is doubted as a hip hop bible of sorts which I totally agree on. I mean what hasn't been said about this album it's Illmatic this review isn't nearly doing it enough justice so if you haven't ... read more
