Like most fans, I was quite worried for the new album. For the most part, the singles were underwhelming, but I went into the album with an open mind, ready to love whatever the best boyband since One Direction dropped.
And I didn't like it... at first. I viewed the whole project as underwhelming, unfinished, sloppy, messy, and incoherent with a lack of focus and I was ready to rate this thing a straight 40/100. But something kept me listening, which is rare for an album that I didn't have a ... read more
An underrated Bowie masterpiece. "Station to Station," has a watertight tracklisting with one half full of cocaine fueled bangers and the other half containing soporific ballads that are dispersed between eachother making the record feel really well put together and balanced. "Wild Is The Wind," is a top five Bowie song for me personally, I love the abstract lyrics and especially the delivery in the lyrics, as Bowie feels so painfully genuine. So yeah, don't underestimate ... read more
This might very well be my favorite album of the 80s. "The Queen is Dead," in my opinion, is one of the most repayable and enjoyable albums ever made. Bar the closing track, every song is near flawless and so memorable, it's as if they all have their own personality. To name a few; the title track is full of sarcastic wit and hidden self loathing, "Frankly, Mr. Shankly," is a quick and fun song followed up masterfully by the long and depressing "I Know Its Over." ... read more
Finally. After long awaiting to listen to this album legally (w/out buying it of course), I can confidently say that this is indeed one of the greatest albums ever made. "21st Century Schizoid Man," "Epitaph," and especially "The Court of the Crimson King," are all songs I'm absolutely addicted to and I can predict them all remaining as three of my all time favorite songs. Seriously, the day I fully love "Moonchild," is the day this album is an 100/100.

It's been years since the release of this album, yet I still don't know how I entirely feel about it. Overall, I think its a great project due to it's wacked out beats that are rapped over by an eccentric performer. But something is a bit off for me about this project. I can't quite pinpoint what it is, because in theory I should love it. I just don't... yet. My only real critique about this album, is just how similar it is, lyrically speaking, to Danny's previous works. ... read more
David Bowie is one of my favorite artists of all time, which makes his final album, Blackstar, one of the most difficult listens of my life, yet, one of the most rewarding listens as well. I don't return to this album very often at all, which might confuse those who see the very high score attached to this review, but the amount of sheer quality in Blackstar is simply inarguable. The title track is one of Bowies most ambitious songs, being a near 10 minute jazzy, near occult track which reveals ... read more
