The romantic prequel of Romance, arguably more romantic than Romance itself. Skinty Fia highlights sad love throughout many Irish scenarios in their songs. A gem of an album hidden behind the success of Romance. Listening to their songs makes me feel like I was given a depressing adrenaline rush. Thank you Fontaines.
I’ll put it to you this way, this is the best album of 2024. The mixed emotion in this album is delightful. It paint a picture of ‘you made it’ and ‘you f*cked it’ at once. Definitely one of the greats and the best modern Irish album there is.
