This is my first experience with this group and I have to say this is one of the most second half-heavy albums I've ever heard. At first I saw the vision but I wasn't too into it. "Practice Makes Perfect" is an appropriate, moody, but musically awkward intro that I did enjoy on a second listen. "French Film Blurred" actually turned out to be one of my favourites revisiting it, probably being the strongest first half song in my opinion. There's just something about those vocal harmonies and the softer tone of this one. "Another the Letter" and "Men 2nd" are short kinda meh tracks that I wasn't really a fan of. Wrapping up first half of the album is the ethereal "Marooned", the energetic "Sand in My Joints", and "Being Sucked In Again", all good songs but not necessarily to the standards of what the album would later offer.

But it was from "Heartbeat" to the end of the album that kind of blew me away. I'm shocked how quickly I went from an album not really being my cup of tea to being a massively enthralling batch of music. The only song I was so-so about in this run was "I Am the Fly", but it was still decent, and sure as hell didn't disrupt this new momentum the album built for itself. This stuff is massively impressive. The instrumentation takes it a notch up and the attitude is as fun and engaging as ever. Seriously good shit.
