Lover is an experimental bag of amazing, good, and some mediocre tracks. The album's tracks for sure are better than the pretentious ME! and mediocre You Need To Calm Down. The opening track seems to be filler but once you get into the meat of the album, it gets really good. The Man isn't a perfect track but it's fun and expressive, Cruel Summer is super fun and experimental, while Paper Rings is fun and retro. Cornelia Street is pretty good as while MA&THP is very deep and hard to explain. ... read more

Slide Away is good song but I fail to feel anything real when this song plays. Seems quickly written and produced to cash off of this breakup. It's sad that Miley is going through this but the motive of the song seems a little money driven.

Small Talk feels small. It rings back to 2014 Meghan Trainor but in a non charasmatic way. Her vocals on the track are messy, the production is boring and basic, and lyrically it's nothing special. All things Charlie Puth is likely the blame of. Honestly don't get way people work with him. This song has a few qualities but overall it's just a 2014 bubblegum pop song without the fun.

Taylor Swift's "You Need To Calm Down" was always a good song to me because of it's beat and chorus. Some of the lines on the song are a little quickly written and overall weak, but this remix brings the song to an all new low. It scraps it's unique and fun beat for generic EDM and only quickens up her voice. I can say I like the original, but this remix takes the good parts of the song and throws them in the blender, only for the bad of this song to be untouched.

Melodrama proves that Lorde is not only one of the best songwriters of our time, but that she is one of the all time greats lyrically. This album wasn't amazing to me at first. But it got better and better as I listened. Flash foward to 2019 and it's easily in my top 5 albums of all time. I think it's simply a perfect piece of art.
