This album's a bit a lil bit hard for me to review as there's a lot of things I want to actually get into here other than just the music itself, such as the album cover and what the songs are actually about (which I'm not going to be going too deep into as to encourage you to read the lyrics yourself). Speaking of the cover, I think it's really sick and gets even cooler when you know the story behind it. From what the band themselves said before, the cover was actually a ... read more
This album is still the BEST rage album I've ever heard, period. I remember being there for all of those snippets, those teasers, the HORRIBLE leaks, the first and second album trailers, trying to follow everything closely, patiently waiting for that release date before it FINALLY dropped on October 10th. That first listening experience was genuinely MIND BLOWING to me, it was some of the most insane shit EVER, and it still is. This is most definitely one of the most groundbreaking rage ... read more
Holy fuck that was a MASSIVE improvement. I actually enjoyed this album quite a lot, it delivered on what it promised and I love it. It's SO much better than "BAD ASS F*CKING KID" in literally every way, from the beats to Nett's vocals and everything else. It was immediately apparent to me from the intro track "you ready?", which already had WAY better production than anything off of Nettspend's last project, featuring a really nice vocal sample and some good ... read more
I only decided to listen to this album from Nettspend so I can compare to his newly released, highly-anticipated "early life crisis", and see how much he really improved between thess 2 projects, as I heard that this was a massive step up from "BAD ASS F*CKING KID". I came out of this listening experience with only one conclusion: I really have to be harsher on shit that I don't enjoy. This is the most stale, boring and uninteresting rage album that I've heard so ... read more
God damn that a great fucking deluxe. "BloodLuxe" expands on the already really good tracklist of "Half Blood" so fucking well, not only do the songs here elevate the original albums tracklist, but are even better than it too. The production here is just fucking great, it keeps the same sound, that being a mix of digicore, rage and a hint of rock, and improves upon it to a great extent, and it's IMMEDIATELY clear from the first 3 tracks, "Brain Fog", ... read more
I decided to listen to this tape because I heard really good things about it and then heard that "BloodLuxe" was gonna drop, so decided to wait until that released before listening to this. I actually really enjoyed this mixtape quite a lot, it's pretty unique not a sound that I've heard much (but that could just be a me thing). The production is really well done, it's super fun and upbeat and has some pretty good variety in terms of the sounds it provides, whether it ... read more
This little EP was a pretty fun listen that's nothing too different from what you'd usually hear from Femtanyl. The production and vocals are more or less what we've already been accustomed to when it comes to her music, that being the loud, maximalist production that sounds like an angry computer and the often high-pitch, screaming vocals, with some variety in both of these depending on the track (like both "DINNER!" and "ATTACKING VERTICAL" not having those ... read more
This short EP is genuinely really fucking good all around, whether it be the beats, vocals or the lyrics, it's digital hardcore greatness. I HEAVILY fuck with the instrumentals on this thing, they're loud, abrasive and very much in-your-face at all times, with each track being consistent in all of those aspects. These fucking things don't let you catch a break, the moment a song ends another one starts, with it being just as explosive as the last, it forces you to give it your ... read more
This album confused the hell out of me. I wanted to listen to this album because I've always heard really positive things about xaviersobased and his music and have enjoyed some songs from him here and there, like "Double Whammy" or "love hate", so I was looking forward to listening to this album kinda expecting something similar to those songs, but obviously a little different. After listening to this project tho, I left incredibly confused and somewhat dumbfounded at ... read more
This is some of the saddest, most depressing, and down-right gut-wrenching shit I've heard. It's a beautiful genre blend of rock and folk music, which somehow mixes so well together it seems like some sort of achievement. The tracklist offers plenty of variety, from those mixes of both rock and folk I mentioned prior, as well as songs that are just straight up rock, like "Heroin", or just folk, such as "Every Knife In The House Was Mine". The production throughout ... read more
I've been meaning to listen to this album for a while now as I've heard lots of praise about it, so I had pretty high expectations coming into this and as sad as I am to say it because I did enjoy listening to this, I have to admit I was fairly underwhelmed. The instrumentals on this thing are actually really good, they're really loud and actually very different to what was on "REST IN BASS", as on here they're, of course, way less bass-heavy, less "dark" ... read more
Similarly to Che, bleood decided to do a surprise drop this Christmas, with the release of this here ep, "how bleood stole Xmas". I actually like this ep a decent amount, there are a few songs here that are really great, like "SANTA LEFT A BODY", "munni & drugs" and "NIGHTMARE BEFORE XMAS" that have really good beats and are just overall really enjoyable songs. The vocals here aren't really anything different from what bleood usually does. They ... read more
I actually enjoy this mixtape quite a lot! It's chaotic, in your face, abrasive, loud, basically everything I enjoy a lot when it comes to music. The beats here are all basically everything I've just described, heavily distorted, bass-heavy, and crazy as fuck. The song "FUCK U BITCH I WANNA B ALONE" is a good example of such, as well as overall being a great intro track to the tape. Other songs here that are some of my favorites include "CHARLIE MURDER", ... read more
Che fucking delivered with this deluxe man, after months of waiting for this to drop, constant teasing here and there as recently as a few days before the release, it's finally fucking here and it's fucking GREAT. The production throughout the whole thing is crazy, still sounding like the original "REST IN BASS", but being distinct enough to stand out on its own from the original album, such as the production taking a tad bit of a different direction. Most if not all of the ... read more
My fault I didn't write this review earlier, I didn't feel like it. Anyways, I enjoyed this album a lot, which isn't surprising as it is a JOHNNASCUS project after all, and it's most definitely one of my favorite JOHNNASCUS albums, although it's nowhere near as good as "[untitled_0007-00200001]]" in my eyes, which I'll explain further as to why later. The production here is INSANELY good, and 100% some of the best I've heard by far. Literally the ... read more
Before I get into this review, I want to mention how and why this album is important to me personally. I view this project as THE album to actually make me interested in broadening my music taste WAY more than I ever have. Prior to listening to this for the first time, I've only ever really listened to a handful of artists. I still remember how blown away I was by the weird, crazy, and downright insane production the first time I listened to this album. To think that a random YouTube ... read more
I don't really have too much to say about this EP, as it's not really a cohesive work like most other JOHNNASCUS albums are, mostly just being a small compilation of unrelated songs (only really sharing the same production style) and small topics only ever SLIGHTLY mentioned here and there but never actually thoroughly explored, but I'll try to say whatever I can. This EP is where JOHNNASCUS production really begins flourishing, with it being a lot better here than on ... read more
After maybe a week I've finally come to writing this review. It's taken me so long mostly because I've been quite demotivated from doing these, I don't really feel like it a lot of the time and most people don't even read these anyway, but I digress. The production here is quite dark and moody throughout the whole album, and the album itself overall is honestly pretty good, to be honest I thought it would've been way worse. Every time I'd remember this project ... read more
I've been putting this shit off for almost 2 weeks now so let's just get it over with, I'm not gonna make this a very long review. "More Anxiety" is exactly what it says it is, just a couple more songs in the same sound as 2slimey's "High Anxiety", and it's overall pretty good. The production here is pretty on par with "High Anxiety" if not a little bit better since that one producer that produced "Roc", "Linkup", ... read more
They tryna burst ear drums with this. High Anxiety is quite possibly the LOUDEST rage album I have ever heard, and might be for a long time. The beats on this thing are fried to OBLIVION. Literally every, except for maybe one, song here is so heavily bass-boosted and distorted it's baffling. The beats here are mostly good, with really punchy drums and of course, REALLY loud bass. You can hear that right off the bat with the intro track "Bring emout", which starts off with this ... read more
