shaking my booty rn
Def one of the better albums they've put out in a minute. In this album, they use more electric guitars and sweet saxophone sounds to infuse the songs with more of an indie/heartland rock feel, which they pull off well. Each track is filled with catchy, but simple hooks, and excellent lyricism, as expected with the Mountain Goats. What this album surprisingly lacks is an emotional oomph, to really push these tracks forward. Not only that, the songwriting on this album can feel stale at times, the climactic moments on some of the tracks not being as climactic as they hope they would be. However, when the songwriting hits hard, it hits HARD. Overall a good album. Will come back
