Perhaps I was a little too harsh on this album. It's still very good but its just got a couple bumps in the road for being SO LONG, its hard to be consistent with a tracklist that huge
kyutatsuki leaving his comfort zone, and surprisingly, making his style wayyy better in the process.
Chimera Dragons is unfortunately an album that slowly sours a bit more as time continues. While its initial ideas are great, there's a lot of shortcomings and oftentimes regressions from his former glory that are a bit too noticeable to my ears.
Starting with the positives, the initial intro and outro track start off a very interesting theme which feels like an old-school RPG focused around slaying a dragon, and with its composition style and choice of synths really work in this regard. ... read more
