yeah this was bland, uninspired, cringe, lazy, just a complete miss. Some songs especially towards the beginning of the project gave some hope that it would beat out the mess that was TTPD, but overall this is just a really banal and lazily put together album with some of the worst lyricism I’ve ever heard
Although it took me a bit to get into Hotline TNT at first, I’m really loving this project. In parts I think it suffers from a lack of sonic variety and I won’t come back to every song on here, but regardless it’s a very fun record that has a ton of replay value overall. Break Right, Where U Been? and Julia’s War are my personal highlights
Unfortunately this is terrible, from a band that used to be one of my favourites no less. I still got enjoyment out of II’s work (he is still one of the best drummers in the world) but the production and songwriting took a horrendous dive down and there wasn’t a single song I enjoyed. It all feels so artificial, formulaic and gimmicky now and I will not be returning to any tracks on here.
