BULLY by Ye is for me the definition of a comeback. The album went through so many phases from starting as a normal project to becoming fully AI to getting dragged because of Ye’s statements and then the vinyl incident and finally becoming what it is now. The EP is really good in terms of experimenting with the mahraganat sound, and I really respect the approach. But for me personally, I didn’t connect with the vocals much, this style of delivery just isn’t my taste. Still, as a mahragan project, it’s solid, and I genuinely love how creative they were with the production. The beats were great and the experimentation really stood out.
This EP shows a completely different side of Wingii. There isn’t a single drill track on it, which is amazing, because I genuinely believe Wingii was doing himself an injustice by keeping his talent locked behind drill music. I already felt this shift when I heard Drama and Ansak w Ansahom.
The EP opens with a track that, for some reason, reminds me of Only 1 by Metro Boomin and Travis Scott. It has a similar vibe, especially in the piano, even though the vocals are obviously different. ... read more
