I could turn on any song on this album and enjoy it no matter where I am. This album is so nostalgic and overall a great vibe
When god gave us ears, Satan gave us Demondice. Demondice is auditory torture. From the perspective of someone who is mixed race Japanese American, I was horrified to fond an artist who was somehow able to make a mockery of both cultures. Norf Norf is among the coldest songs I’ve ever heard. I saw Vince Staples in concert and the whole venue went nuts when the synths started playing. The simple production allow Vince’s Ice cold flows and sharp lyricism to truly shine.
This project, while having some of Staples’ most memorable tracks, is overall bloated and has several forgettable moments on it. The repetitive nature of the album at some points make it feel rather boring. Summertime ‘06 was overall a great listen, but it is one of Staples’ least memorable albums.
