Tbh I don't really get the criticism of his vocals. Yeah they aren't the most expressive vocals ever. Tbh I haven't listened to a whole lot of DI6 and sol invictus but I don't think his vocals are *that* much worse than Douglas P. If you don't like sort of monotone vocals then you probably won't like this/find them off putting but if they don't bother you this albums still worth a listen.

It's a very different production style from their other albums (more effect heavy) which probably puts people off. However, it's far from bad and has a lot of very good lyrics (which is one of the main reasons I enjoy The Smiths).
Track 6, 9 and 10 are all the weakest tracks on the album for me.

first listen disclaimer.
Biased on the grounds that this isn't really my usual thing at all, as I don't really like shoegaze much. However, this wasn't too bad. It's definitely very noisy, which is the point of shoegaze (from my understanding) however to me it makes it difficult to pick up parts of the record I like as I feel like it melds into one.
The first track to me is lackluster however it picks up towards the end of the album and I do enjoy track 2.

I didn't think it was too bad on a first listen. The production was pretty bad (very muddy) however apart from that it was fine. The track titles are definitely cheesy though (I feel like going for modern slang in lyrics is always a bad idea-in 30 years it will be like victorian English). The lyrics you can barely hear (production). There's a lot of discussion on the vocals being bad however I couldn't really hear them much due to the production.
