Every layer of this album oozed such care, from the atmospheric sounds to the eerie vocals. I don't know many albums that evoke such visceral reactions as this one has for me. I wasn't sure how Ethel Cain's new work was going to stack up with the masterpiece that was Preacher's Daughter, yet somehow, this album felt just as impactful and purposeful.
