菊山箇醸 其之四

Finally got around to downloading soulseek to get to listen to some niche, hard to find stuff starting with this one since i wasn't doing all the bs required to gain access to the zip file.

It's just some extra Kiku era ikd-sj tracks, so pretty solid quality all around, the first track is really violent and sort of gives some early deftones vibes, also i love that small section in the middle of the song with heavy bass and the strings being played with.

The middle track is a really odd stand out being a slower mostly instrumental with some cool drums build up into these manic violent, distorted payoffs, apparently i heard this is a demo recording where Akira plays all parts so thats cool, probably the most notable moment in the EP.

The album ends with the last of the Chapter tracks and just like the others it's a change in tone from the previous sound the album had, however unlike the weird electronic style of those other songs this one is a more soothing piano ballad with distortion on Akira's voice, more like his solo stuff. Maybe the least remarkable moment in the album but still worth a listen since the sound of the piano along with the production create a really cool soundscape.
