this record is brutal, is artistic, is ambitious, is everything you could want from this style of music and then some
it might not sound just as adventurous or eccentric as the prior xiu xiu records, but FORGET sets itself at, at least, the same level as their strongest works to date - and maybe, just maybe, it feels like a breath of fresh air to hear xiu xiu disclosing their catchy and more comforting face after the ocean of depressive voyeurism that their beginnings represent
