The farewell project from J. Cole consists of a lot of personal stories and some self reflection over his great career. The production is pretty good, but sometimes you wish it was better. Mostly boom bap with quiet a lot interesting samples. The strong side is definitely the lyricism. The problem sometimes is the length of some songs. The main problem with this album are the repetative vocals, which get old very quickly. The melodic flow from Don Toliver is really sweet and mastered over the years, so that was pretty fun to listen, but also got old quickly. The production is actually pretty decent. The lyrics are obviously very weak and even primitive sometimes. But we do not expect Don Toliver to be the next Shakespeare, so it’s ok. Overall the project is ok, but I probebly wouldn’t listen to it again.
Velké zklamání. Až na pár výjimek absolutně jednoduché, nekreativní a vlastně jen trendové beaty. Od jednoho z předních českých rapperů a členů m+ prostě čekáte víc.
