this beating my ghosts go ghost may have to be a crime
personally, i see the merit in this project. i think it was really strong in the first half, but by "the manifesto" i felt we had lost the plot, and the album began to blend together more than i had hoped for it to be distinctive
the first eight tracks were genuinely a very strong bunch, and the only track out of the second half i truly enjoyed was "the sweet prince", although i have a feeling "damascus" will ... read more
MC Ride would have done mystical wonders to STFU
also westside gunn deserved a better feature that was abysmal
picture if we grabbed owl city song structures and added emo elements to them. that's what this album is. not bad though
there was no amount of preparation i could've had before i listened to rich brian perform an introspective rap for six and a half minutes about his experience growing up on the internet under like two of the dreamiest stars colliding and falling shooting star ass beats of all time in the EXACT SAME SONG after a nice calm redveil feature. nothing could've prepared me for that moment. anyway that song is called timezones and it's rich brian's best song

cool record with cool beats and cool rapping but i just feel like it meshes together in a way where it feels more difficult to separate each track. some tracks have more enjoyable beats/rapping than others
fav tracks: mar-a-lago, ensalada, skinny suge II, i still love h.e.r., shangri la, gas station sushi, lavish habits, gold feet
least fav track: feeling
it's got some of his best and some of his worst and everything in between
fav tracks: DEATHCAMP, PILOT, 2SEATER, THE BROWN STAINS OF DARKEESE LATIFAH PART 6-12 (REMIX), FUCKING YOUNG / PERFECT, SMUCKERS, OKAGA, CA
least fav: CHERRY BOMB
i can't be the only one who thinks ebitda is unfathomably short like imagine if we got another feature on there and if it was like a three-four minute song it would be ethereal
also i would've liked some songs (like all things considered and so far ahead) more if we didn't give pharrell a lollipop and tell him to do whatever he wanted with the hook but they're still good songs
favorite songs: the birds don't sing, chains & whips, POV, so be it, ace trumpets, ... read more
sir, a second mysterious and fascinating adjective has hit the towers
"how'd you know that?" is really really annoying to me but otherwise a bop
it'll hit me eventually but i just never really caught the hype for this album tbh

i'm into this LP way more than i should be but it's actually really fun and poppy and it's a really nice mixture of alt-pop and indie rock
fav track(s): overcompensate, next semester, midwest indigo, vignette, navigating, at the risk of feeling dumb, paladin strait
least fav track: lavish
