Karen Dalton - In My Own Time

This is a beautiful and criminally under appreciated folk album. On "In my own time," Dalton's simple acoustic compositions leave space for her raspy vocals and melancholic songwriting.
Lil Uzi Vert - Luv Is Rage 2

This is one of the quintessential trap albums of the 2010's. It might not be a perfect project (definitely runs a little too long) but it is difficult to deny its influence. Some of the generations biggest hits land on this project (XO TOUR LIFE, Way it Goes, 20 Min) and I am going to make the bet that in 5 years we will look back upon this album very fondly.
Lou Reed - Words & Music, May 1965

I am so biased towards “intimate, demo quality, folk songs” and yet I must say; Lou Reed does it better than most. His personal songwriting style finds its greatest strengths elevated thanks to the raw performance and lofi recording this track showcases.
Kelly Lee Owens - LP.8

Abrasive and yet stunningly lush
Woody Goss & May Erlewine - Anyway

The band kept it simple on this one. Despite its lack of experimentation and occasionally basic song structure, this album has such a pleasant and calming energy. May Erlewine is a fantastic songwriter and she does so much with so little. Overall, this a solid batch of slightly folk/jazz/blues cuts that make for some easy and enjoyable listening
