Clockwork

84 • classy, yet ruthless bangers

tick-tock, tick-tock, new Blackout release from a new artist. Maybe not that new because Metanoia is a collaboration between Smooth & Wooga. And oh, they hit hard on first listen.

Clockwork has one of the things I vibe on Drum & Bass, the percussion work. This track has a lot of them while still sounds sense. I like how the drop switches every 16 bars too.
and oh, funny snare at the 2nd drop. it's sounds tinyy

Empirical takes you to a more orchestral experience before sending you to a dramatic, complex drop. (yes ik clockwork feels orchestral too but this track displays that more). The contrast between the string-heavy intro and the techy, glitchy drop is a lot. Not to mention the glide-y synth work, I dig that.

Both of the tracks has its own charm but the way it is arranged sounds a bit cramped, especially with Empirical. I don't mind it that much though.
These two might grow on me more but so far both of them hit hard on first listen.
