HELLO???????
Kendrick Lamar woke up on a Friday afternoon to remind us how to be a hater again, this is glorious. No rollout, no announcement, no nothing. Just a minute long Youtube video 10 MINUTES before the album dropped. Insanity. Most of this feels like Kendrick woke up really pissed and just cranked out 12 tracks hating on the whole world but there are some songs like man at the garden, luther, and gloria that are really beautiful while still being the ego boost the whole album is. Just ... read more
I fucking love synthpop.
This is it. Music has peaked here. We don't get better than this. Fuck TPAB. Fuck MBDTF. Fuck Blonde. Fuck all that, this might be the greatest album ever. Every song is a banger, just banger after banger. It's the best produced album I've ever heard in my life. Every song here is almost perfect, all above a 90 rating for me. Album of the year, album of the decade, album of the century, album of the millenium. The album of all time. This is music. Music: ... read more
Brat summer is over, it's time for Chromakopia falll babyyyyyyy. Holy shit, Tyler exceeded expectations with this one. This feels like the beginning of a new era and I think that the Sorry Not Sorry music video, the lack of a double track 10, and just everything from the music to the presentation backs that up. Nothing about this is like the Tyler we've seen before, it feels so fresh. Almost every song here is a hit with top-tier production. This feels like Tyler's Mr Morale to ... read more
My favorite part was when Travis ate a chip with a fuckton of reverb
I've listened to this a lot, and I still can't comprehend what the fuck is supposed to be going on here. This album wasn't just ahead of it's time at release, it's still ahead of our time. This shit is from the future, I swear. Yeezus was the first ever Kanye album I listened to so you can imagine the whiplash I got from listening to this. I can't even really put together a good review for this thing cause even years later, my brain is still trying to process this ... read more
Absolutely my favorite Green Day album. This shit hits like crack cocaine in the 80s, it's nearly perfect in every way. This was one of Green Day's last true pop-punk albums before they switched to a more rock opera style of music with American Idiot. And listen, don't get me wrong I love American Idiot. This just hits on a different level. The amount of experimenting on this album is crazy as well, Last Ride In is honestly the last thing I would expect from a Green Day album of ... read more
This album is officially 8 years old today, so I wanna do a short review for this. It only has 8 songs with just 6 of them being full-length songs, so it's a very short and sweet album, yet it still has alot to offer. Songs like Cotard's Solution and Song With 5 Names are like nothing I've ever heard before and Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In! is easily my favorite song here and one of my favorite songs ever. It's bombastic, it's dramatic, I love it. It's a ... read more
This gets one point lower than the original because
1. it's basically a cash grab.
2. GOD. and LOVE. are pushed the front of the album and I just can't deal with that.
Somehow, I ranked this above a Kendrick Lamar album. Oh well LMAO
A couple years ago, I finally decided to listen to this album after non-stop recommedation from Spotify with absolutely zero clue who Will Wood was or what I was getting myself into. The year is 2024 and now I'm completely obsessed with this man and his music. I love this album, it got me into one of my favorite artists ever and it was a fitting introduction seeing how the album starts with Suburbia Overture, which shows a ... read more
I'm gonna be honest here, it's not the worst thing I've ever heard. I actually used to love this album when it came out and then I heard To Pimp A Butterfly and actually gained real taste. Yeah, this is essentially Own The Libs: The Album. A lot of these songs are straight up awful and when they don't sound like complete dogshit, they're ruined by the cringiest lyrics you will ever hear come from a piece of music. It's almost Radke levels of bad. And the politcal ... read more
I remember when this used to be my favorite album ever. Yeah, I know, zero taste back then.
It was two years ago.
Anyways, I still actually think it's a solid album. It has it's fair share of duds but overall, it's not bad. I can definitely see where someone would listen to this and pass it off as Ford F-150 music and I wouldn't blame them. God just gave me the most fucked up music taste known to man so I'm giving this steaming pile of Canadian Imagine Dragons ... read more
Better Oblivion Community Center is an experience. Never before have I genuinely been immersed in the world that the album has painted for me. This is honestly the perfect summer/fall indie album for me. I feel like I'm living in Life Is Strange whenever I put this album on, it's so damn good. Phoebe Bridgers and Connor Oberst is one of my favorite musical duos ever, their sounds just mesh together so well, with that not only being shown on this project but also songs on Stranger In ... read more
