Forever, Howlong down to third best Black Country, New Road album of the year
It should go without saying that this doesn't hold a candle to the original but it doesn't tarnish or look to replace it either.
Its an ego trip, but an interesting one that changes enough for me to enjoy it in its own right.
Richard Dawson's ability to build worlds and characters through song writing and performance is unparalleled and this album is no exception. The best conclusion to a trilogy since The Return of The King.
edit: After some reflection, this is more The Dark Knight Rises. Bigger, bolder but not quite as good.
When the truly awful opening track told me it won't get better than this, I should have listened
Really solid follow up to their really solid debut; if it ain't broke don't fix it.
This really is a great song but it was a bold move to play it twelve times in a row and call it an album.
I was so underwhelmed by Black Midi's "evolution" but this similar change in direction deserves every drop of praise.
