Conner price continues to do the same thing and I still kinda enjoy it
The symphonic elements remain intact in this new EP. I appreciate their continued dedication to write metal in classical formats because it gives actual meaning to the "symphonic metal" genre tag.
The orchestration is good, and say what you will about the Lorna shore or Disembodied Tyrant influence they remain distinct through compositional style. Both LS and DT have orchestration but not the compositional backbone to give it larger meaning or impact.

I want to start this by saying that I am a massive Dance Gavin Dance fan.
This entire album feels disjointed with poor instrumentals. That's rare for DGD because the focal point of their music is the jazz structure drumming, djent bass, and impressive mathcore lead and rhythm guitar. This felt like a poor imitation of Swancore, and it was written by Will Swan. Chromakopia walked so this could limp drunkenly into the ICU
This is my favorite null.no release yet. The soundscapes really encapsulate a feeling of hopelessness going into the political landscape of 2025.
After revisiting this album, it has shrunk on me massively. This is a whimsical sounding take on failing relationships and discussions of suicide. The entire time, the lyrics come across as though the artists have never actually experienced anything that they are trying to have a conversation about. This reeks of pretension and suburban first-world issues. Everything that they touch on that is remotely dark is from a second-hand perspective, "Sometimes it's hard to be alive and you ... read more
This is one sided surface level commentary about trans discrimination coming from someone living in the one state in the United States with actual decent healthcare and support for trans individuals. This comes across as misguided at best.
