Freak Slug - Loose Tooth And A Short Skirt
70

It's good, but nothing mind blowing.

She's In Parties - Are You Dreaming?
75

Pretty decent dream pop.

Stella Donnelly - Love and Fortune
80

The user reviews on this are wild. This album was stunning, subtle yet beautiful.

Whitney - Small Talk
45

Wow. Like easy listening Karaoke

Hatchie - Liquorice
65

There are some really great moments here like Sage, Only One Laughing, Part That Bleeds. But so many moments here feel way too derivative of early shoegaze to a point that I lost interest.

dexter in the newsagent - Time Flies
80

Some of the lyrics feel emo-young, but it still works. The production on this album is incredible though. What a stellar debut

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Pogo Rodeo
75

A fun romp, even if not as awesome as its predecessor.

Lily Lyons - Re-Open The World
70

Pretty, especially the title track.

Hilary Woods - Night CRIÚ
60

There is nothing too objectionable here, but I just found it to be too boring for me.

claire rousay - a little death
75

I wasn't expecting much from this, but it was actually really pretty.

Matt Pryor - The Salton Sea
70

Some great hooks, if you love the Get Up Kids there is a lot to enjoy here. But some of the production choices leave me baffled. Union Transfer is an incredible tune, but they turned the gain up so much on Matt's vocals that it starts to crack in a bad way.

Navy Blue - The Sword & The Soaring
75

The lyricism is on point, the drumless loops are pretty and hypnotic. My only complaint is that there needs to be a bit more musical variety because it all started to meld into one after awhile.

Portugal. The Man - SHISH
70

A blending of their early punk roots with the pop sound they have crafted recently. It is their best work since their magnum opus (in my opinion) Evil Friends.

Armand Hammer - Mercy
65

Surprisingly boring for an Armand Hammer project. Some decent bars here but the beats feel so sluggish and stale.

Austra - Chin Up Buttercup
80

A very compelling break up album. The music hits all the right notes. The lyrics are playfully dramatic, in an endearing sort of way.

Allie X - Happiness Is Going To Get You
75

Not as consistent as Girl With No Face, but there are still some amazing songs here. The biggest issue is that the mid section lulls a bit, but the beginning few tracks and the last few songs are just so good. I almost wish they let this one cook a bit longer.

The Dears - Life Is Beautiful! Life Is Beautiful! Life Is Beautiful!
75

Their most consistent album since Missiles. Songs like Our Life and Life is Beautiful are wonderful.

BLK ODYSSY - MOOD CONTROL
75

Not as good or cohesive as 1 800 FANTASY, but it is still really enjoyable. Ricky is a banger.

Sorry - COSPLAY
80

There is something strangely off putting by these songs, but still my interest was kept. Waxwing is a certified banger, Jetplane is also pretty fantastic.

On All Time Low - Everyone’s Talking!
"@TadeuMs I don't hate the genre. The last Alkaline Trio album was one of my fave albums of last year. But this All Time Low project is way more pop rock then pop punk, but more importantly than the genre issue - it is bland and boring."

"@lincoln Or was it ;)"
On Bob Mould - Here We Go Crazy
"@LordEmsworth Society is bad, but you can be more poetic about it. I guess for me it just felt like stuff I would write in highschool. I have no issue with people writing sad music about society sucking, or funny music about society sucking, so long as they are both written well."
On Bob Mould - Here We Go Crazy
"@radio_ruben I didn't know that! I have listen to Husker Du and can see the comparison."
On Mother Mother - Grief Chapter
"I always try new albums out because you never know how you have changed, and maybe it will connect this time."
