just fucking sensational
edit: I was in such a trance after the first listen that i just left this review and dipped😭 my actual breakdown is now though
actual review: This was just incredible. It may sound like i’m overdoing it, but I was never bored while listening to this. At all. Every song on here is amazing. One thing i don’t understand though is all of the EDM hate; slayr does a really good job at experimenting with it and he didn’t even do it that often. ... read more
It was a little short and really sweet, but got repetitive fast. The production was flawless, but Subii also sounds really drugged out. I guess this is for the emotional feel of Valentine’s day, but the constant sound of his voice signaled to me something. Overall a really good project, and there are definitely some songs on this album I’ll have on repeat throughout the day.
I rated this album higher than my track rating average because everything honestly goes together. This is pretty much what i expect from Nine Vicious, and this was also a pretty fun album to listen to. Although the screaming gets annoying and the ad libs do too, Nine does a really good job on everything else. The production is good as always, and this will shut a lot of people up since they were complaining about “Nine not being as hungry” when he literally dropped all of his hidden ... read more
I’m a huge LUCKI fan, so the dark pluggnb feel to this album is very enjoyable. I also love the production on this project, especially after finding out one of my favorite producers (Marcusbasquiat) was on this project. I really listened to most of the album for the first time today, and a lot of hidden gems were discovered for me, like “kesha k” and “valentine”. However, this album is a little sloppy, especially with the end of some songs. It just cuts off, and ... read more
Honestly at this point jaydes should just make a whole new account for everything. I thought Count Up Dracula would just be a phase since he was dealing with all of the legal stuff, but to my surprise it isn’t. It’s like listening to an addict or someone dying over time. It sort of feels like he stopped caring about making enjoyable music, and just lets his intrusive thoughts take over on most songs on this project; The Cartman voice on “ On my dead girlfriend” ... read more
I started getting into xtsy*’s music fairly recentl, with my spotify streams being invaded by all of his songs about two weeks ago. I was super hyped when he dropped this project, but it honestly kind of fell beneath my expectations. I don’t know how to exactly describe this, but I love when xtsy* makes songs with the little fancy feel to it, and it reminds me of jonoftf so much. On this project, I was expecting more of that, and I didn't get it. Xtsy* sounds like he’s ... read more
Most of this deluxe is straight noise, and the only listenable song in my opinion is “DIE HARD”. It sounds like Che is trying to be new gen Carti a lot, but it seems like he’s trying way too hard. It’s just unbearable to me with all the screaming and the off-pitch vocals. I don’t even like new gen Carti that much, so it’s not much bias.
I’ve been putting off throughly listening to this whole project for the longest, and now that I have finally listened to it, I question why I ever put it off. I was holding myself from a great listening experience.
Rex is a unique rage rapper, and is also pretty funny in some bars of this song. I see a lot of similarities to “Half Blood” , and I honestly think it’s good that Rex transitioned some songs, and not all. Since “Half Blood” is more digicore, Rex ... read more
I hate to say this, but Rio has gotten repetitive now. He doesn’t really bring the same energy on this project compared to others, and it feels like he’s washing up. Also, this dude Packman needs stop yelling on every song, it’s pretty irritating. There are some funny pop culture bars that make up for the deprived-sounding Rio, like streamers and things of that nature. Other than that, this project is kind of weak and I’ll probably forget about it.
I like how DAMI experiments with new sounds in this project. It sounds like he’s incorporating a little bit of a rage sound in the album, and does a pretty solid job of it. However, the rapping is kind of sloppy, and the album sounds like it’s kind of just been thrown together. I probably would’ve rated this album in the 80s or so if he at least added transitions, because he definitely could’ve transitioned between three songs in this order: “WUT I NEED”, ... read more
Honestly, Sin + isn’t bad, but it kind of has a little bit of an excessive dreamy feel to it. It doesn’t really work with how 1oneam usually raps, so some of the songs aren’t really enjoyable on this project. He does have a few good songs on this project though, like chain smoker, make her dance, and agent 47. Not bad, but there’s a road of progress ahead, 1oneam.
I liked listening to this project, it was definitely an adventure listening to this due to the length. I really like how the guitar is added to the rage album, and the guitar transitions are very on point. Ezcodylee also has some catchy lines in some of the songs that make them really good. But, there are some flaws in my opinion. Some of the lyrics are pretty damn derogatory, and kill the mood of some of the songs that I listened to. Almost all music has bad lyrics sometimes, but a couple bars ... read more
I really enjoyed listening to this after discovering Half Blood, and was really happy that that wasn’t the only album where he had that type of sound. HeavenTunes is less energetic than Half Blood, and has one or two songs that aren’t the best. However, there are many other components that I like in this project. One is how he includes two parts of a song in one, like DiveInLove, and NotPacked. I especially like The DiveInLove one, because it has that sexy drill type feel to it in ... read more
This album is unlike anything I’ve heard before. Slayr is such a unique artist, being able to blend multiple genres of music incredibly well in one album and adding amazing transitions to add the finishing touch to it. His flow on Never Go Down and The Sky are completely different, yet he still manages to add both of them into one album well. One thing that stood out to me was the singing in The Sky. Slayr has a really amazing voice! Even with differences in genre, the entire album really ... read more
In my opinion, this is LUCKI’s best project of the 2020s. The fast tempo and production of all of the songs with the lyricism of LUCKI going through struggles with love and trust adds the cherry on top. Although his struggles are rapped throughout his entire discography, I find that when it is paired with this type of production and fast pace, it is the most playable. This is perfectly displayed in songs like Pure Love - Hate, Ouch Omen, and Prada Tune, probably the most popular out of ... read more
This is LUCKI’s second best album in my eyes. I feel that this is some of, if not, LUCKI’s best lyricism in all of his discography. The production on this album is dreamy, and somewhat intense in some songs, like Hidden Place, Witchcraft, and especially the buildup in the beginning of Slow Down. The production on songs like Xan Cage and 4th Commandment Broken is production rare to any other. This is very impressive for a second project.
if he made one more mixtape with a sober sound like this he would prolly be at carti and uzi level popularity. I like this style of lucki, really energetic and up tempo
Such a great album, all of the depressing aspects of this album complement each other so well. From the lyrics, the beat selection, and the tone of Lucki’s voice. This perfectly depicts struggle with drugs, trust, and how he feels that he’s in front of the face of death. Despite all of these depressing additives, this album has quite a view songs that are worth to be bumped, like Leave With You, No Wok, and Owe a N**** (my opinion). Overall, this is definitely a must listen, and ... read more
