I'm guessing a lot of people are nervous for this chapter in Alex G's discography, his signing to RCA has left fans worried about their DIY golden boy selling out his sound. Since 'God Save The Animals' the band shifted to an overall cleaner sound that whilst retaining their country and folk influence was generally more palatable to mainstream audiences.

I’m not the biggest fan of indie to begin with but I’m sure there’s more to this genre than clean production and bad lyricism
I don’t mind the instrumentation on a lot of the album (bar one track) but the singer really adds noting of substance to this album. He’s not even bad, just painfully bland, the first song is so cheesy it makes me want a Lancer Evo instead.
