When I listen to Tecca, I'm not expecting much, just a couple of bangers to go into my playlist, and that's it. And as usual, he provided a few standout tracks like Dark Thoughts and Hollywood, which were essential for 2025's summer. The rest were fine, I listened to a few more, but I haven't revisited this album in a long time.
I can't lie, but I was a little disappointed when this album dropped. When the rollout was happening, both Ab-Soul and Joey got me extremely hyped for the level of rapping I would see on this album. However, I didn't get that at all, but that album wasn't bad, where I thought the highlights were self-titled and underwater, the rest I really don't go back to.
Most of the time, when you tell me that an artist I love will release a posthumous album, I would be worried about the quality of the project. But for the Mac Miller Estate, that is not a problem, as they have released such a strong and emotional album at the beginning of 2025. RIP Mac Miller
Similar to Denzel's KOMS, this is a nice break for the emotional vulnerability of Chromakopia and in Tyler's case he did that in a fun pop-rap album. It has some definite bangers I go back to, and I think that shows the purpose of this album, one to just have some fun whenever you feel like. Favorite song has to be Don't You Worry Baby, which has a nice sensual feel that makes you want to dance
I hate this album so much, man, it isn't even funny. It started fine with Welcome to the Carter and King Cater, but what the hell was that dumpster fire man? Some of the worst beats I have heard in a long time. What's worse, Rebirth or this? Easily Rebirth, but this album was so close when I heard Peanuts to an Elephant, and when I heard Jelly Roll was in this album.
