Pure filth
Part 2 before the 300th review for Downward Spiral, we become hart brocken in the Trent Reznor universe and it's fucking disgusting and oily. This album is rage and madness incarnate with how he idealized it. Reznor over industrial rock/metal production is way more appealing and really takes Reznor's state into complete instrumental form really well which I prefer over Pretty Hate Machine personally.
That being said, this thing is dripping with pure fucking sludgy hatred, it oozes it into your ears and makes you stick to your seat for 31 minutes of length. If you wanna get fucking pissed, you put this on and punch your fuckin wall. Break shit, destroy it all (the album). The interlude between the upbeat tempo and lyrical component of Pretty Hate Machine to this with keeping some aspects to Downward Spiral's disgusting contempt of humanity as a whole and the ideals of suicide and hefty issues makes this REALLY feel like a 3 part story of personal hell Reznor really was put through, especially when he took heroin like holy fuck heroin makes people make some crazy songs.
8 tracks, 8 tracks with puncture wounds for listening, 8 tracks that feel like they're bleeding in agony when Reznor gives you his silky to screeching voice over layered, completely fucked production relaying so much rhythm and chaos into the mix of this album, it really feels like you're stumbling through the depths of like fucking Doom, it's sludgy primordial soupy components of rugged distorted guitars I've never heard anything similar for, the drums being slammed upon, the filter put upon Happiness In Slavery while he screams his lungs out and more and more and moreeeeee. It's so fucking potent to the ears, it's gross, it's angry.
8.7/10 bro seems a lil hart brocken
