Cupcakke doesn't try to evolve or do anything new despite taking a 6 year brake between this and her last LP. I really love Cupcakke as a rapper despite everyone treating her like a "joke rapper". God I feel so bad for her.
This is one of the worst albums I have ever had the displeasure for hearing. It's sad that she has to sell herself to this extent in order to keep herself somewhat relevant. Don't get me wrong, I love sexual and raunchy music no matter how hardcore it is, I even enjoy Cupcakke and Supahbadd. But this doesn't feel sexy or raunchy, it feels like forced prostitution.

Unfortunately, Swanlights is rush and unfinished. It's just empty with barely any highlights other than "Thank You For Your Love". The songs lack any direction because they don't have much to say in the first place. It's like looking at a beautiful painting with no real meaning behind, it makes a room beautiful but it doesn't enchant it, it's just pleasant. One of the most powerful albums ever. Every song here is special in its own way and they never fail to make me cry. Anohni's performances are beautiful and the guest performances are also excellent. The lyrics are so tender yet the emotion they contain is so strong and painful.
