this album is a fucking mess. no getting around it. its all over the place in sound and lyrical content... the concept is fucking genius though. consider this: kanye is at a point in his life where he has more responsibility than just maintaining his musical career. he's got a full fledged family to care for at this point. by just looking at the album cover, with a family portrait contradicted against a swimsuit model with the words "which one" repeated everywhere. the album opens ... read more

such a grower of an album. i was convinced this was kanye's worst for a while but after many listens something just made sense to me. i think that's what kanye wanted honestly. why else would you go from one of the most immaculately produced hip hop albums of all time to something abrasive an minimalistic like this? you want people to feel polarized. kanye was at a point in his career where he could whatever the hell he wanted, and he damn did it.

really average collab album, but the man just created a fucking masterpiece less than a year prior so let him make a few bangers afterward! won't really leave an impact on you but its a fun album. sorta like graduation, but with less charisma and more braggadocious lyrics!
fav tracks: why i love you, niggas in paris, otis
least fav: who gon stop me

kanye's masterpiece, easily one of the best hip hop albums of all time, and maybe the best hip hop album of the decade. production is legendary, features are the best ever, everything about this album is just about perfect. everything made before this album was leading up to this moment.
fav tracks: devil in a new dress, runaway, lost in the world
least fav: blame game (if i had to choose)

the most influential album of the century so far? quite possibly, so much of pop music today would cease to exist without this landmark, iconic record. a complete left turn from kanye's previous sounds, but something that just works when you consider the context of the album. as everyone knows, the death of donda west, kanye's mother, and his breakup with 18-month long fiance alexis phifer left kanye feeling alone. he felt as though rapping was not suitable for the lyrical content he wanted to ... read more
