While I knew this album would likely be quite good due to the constant hype it has received for the past couple years, I had no idea what to expect but I was still shocked. This album is excellent, and Death and Romance and Vampire in the Corner especially stand out to me.
Although I prefer plastic death, this album is still excellent. Some of the tracks being slower instrumentals makes it so that I may not listen to them all individually like I do for plastic death, but I when looking at it from the perspective of a complete album I think they fit well. Glass Beach is easily one of the best songs that the band has ever made, and Cold Weather and Orchids are both incredible as well.
Whatever you do, don’t just judge this album by the first track. The later songs are all so much better, especially Goodbye My Strange No. 28. The vocals are a mixed bag throughout the songs, but the instrumentals are all incredible.
I have no idea how to even begin to describe this album. Every song has a completely different vibe but it still feels like a complete and cohesive package, and there are so many standout songs, especially deepfake and 5g. Please come back with more music Brakence, I need this.
Underscores truly can make an album of any genre, and this is probably her best work to date. While I may prefer some of the songs on U, this album just has so many bangers. CCTV especially is just such an incredible and unique song, nothing like I’ve ever heard before.
I had no idea what to expect going in to this, but wow was I blown away. I’ve never heard another album quite like this, it has such a distinct vibe and sound. I’m not surprised it’s as iconic as it is, it is truly one of the greatest albums to come out in the 2010’s and it has such a cool album art too.
This is already an incredible album, and then theres just an hour of the greatest song ever practically at the end. Every song does different things and yet all has a distinct sound and style that you can instantly recognize it’s from the album. One of the most unique and incredible albums I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.
Similar to Willyrodriguezswastaken, Glass Beach really did just decide to drop one of the greatest albums ever made before disbanding. It’s such an abrupt style shift from their first album but I find myself preferring it greatly, as much as I do love a lot of the songs on the first album. The entire album is incredible but the second half especially stands out, with Commatose being one of my favorite songs ever made and having such incredible progression.
As much as I am sad that Willyrodriguezistaken isn’t going to release anything new, they left us with my favorite album of all time so I can’t really complain. All of these tracks could be a 95 or 100 but I’m trying to rank them more in comparison to each other. Wetdream and Revisited especially have such an emotion behind them and such good progression, and Playing Dead grows on me more every time I listen. The vocals especially shine in this album, but the instrumentation is ... read more
