Only recently found this album after reading in a tiktok comment section that, "Daniel Johnston was a big inspiration to Car Seat Headrest." I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but surely not this; I can't say I'm upset at all. This album is so incredibly well put together, and while I have yet to decipher much of the meaning in many of the songs-- I am absolutely enraptured by the feelings of innocence, compassion, and nostalgia captured within.
There is not one. Single. Skip. On this album. Only in recent times have I become an "album listener," yet from the moment I discovered this album I was hooked on every, single, track. Incredibly put together, from a time before Panic! At The Disco sucked, completely full of hits and gems start to finish. Easily one of my top albums of all time, there will never be a moment in which I will not be okay with any song off of here playing.
This album makes me feel like a bad partner. I've had "Somebody Else's Child" in my liked songs for years, yet only now--while in a happy relationship--have I decided to delve into this album. I currently work a retail job that gives me way too much time to think, and I find that often my mind wanders to the wonders of my first relationship.
