It makes me a bit upset seeing a bunch of Radiohead fans praise them for the way they changed the music scene with their new sound around OK Computer, but when they do something different years later, it's disregarded. This album is NOT as bad as people say it is, it is just different. And sometimes, differences are okay. I'll admit it, when I first listened I wasn't a fan of the album, but the more I listened the more I became familiar with the weird drums and vocal effects. I ... read more
It's a lackluster album with a certain attitude that I don't believe Camilla has. This album feels entirely like someone listened to the newest trending songs and made an album trying to be that within the same day. Her words lack confidence, the lyrics are uninspiring, and the artists who collaborated on this album with her sound 10 times worse than they ever have. Why the HELL is Pitbull sampled on a seemingly sad song????? It tries to do something and fails at whatever that is and ... read more
Jesus Christ what an album. There is truly nothing I can say about this album that hasn't already been said. I can only dream of being alive when this dropped and feeling, in real-time, the impact and influence this would have on later music.
I have to start with Let Down. I feel like every person who has listened to this album brushed off Let Down upon first listen, and I did too! It wasn't until one early morning car ride where I listened to the lyrics, listened to how every verse ... read more
Holy shit this album is so incredible and SUCH a jump from Pablo Honey. The only way to beat Creep's success was by making an album with songs hating on Creep better than Creep!!! The immediate production improvement when you look at Pablo Honey to The Bends is astonishing. The instruments, vocals, lyrics, production, and every little thing off of this album are just so incredible. I am blessed to live in the same time that this album exists.
I'll be honest, Planet Telex has never ... read more
I am a huge Radiohead fan. Until now, I have listened to every album besides this one, but I decided to listen to it today. Going into this I had relatively mediocre expectations because I often hear of this album being bad/ ok. I have to say though after giving it a listen, it feels like most of the reviews I have read about this album view it as bad because they aren't viewing it as a stand-alone album, but rather an album to kick off the career of the people who made OK Computer.
