Had really high hopes for this as a long-time Weeknd fan. The album starts SO strong, but loses itself around the middle and never quite picks back up. Wish the energy was better spread throughout the album or the runtime was cut shorter. Definitely a handful of songs we could've done without. But, even in the songs that didn't standout as much, they still had a nice sound to them. Wake Me Up and Open Hearts are the biggest standouts for me.
Feels like a more sure-footed release for Dunes. So dreamy and nostalgic but still packs quite a punch. Was pretty underwhelmed with their last release, but this is a very welcome addition to their discography ^^ Early favorites are Paper Tigers, Violet, Holograms, and Machines.
