I am not emotionally available to love this album right now. I will be back to listen again, however. I love nearly everything SS has ever done. I found this album to be a return to the form of early SS work. Using electronics the way he used to orchestrate for woodwinds. I did find the lyrics and tone to be rather bleak. So for now, I will have to shelve it and take it back down when I am ready. I had a similar experience with Carrie and Lowell and still can only listen to it occasionally ... read more
